Husky is a general term for several breeds of dogs used as sled dogs. Because of their strength and stamina, the name “Husky” is popular for products and for sports mascots. The Alaskan Husky is a mixed-breed dog in which northern or husky-type ancestry, such as the Siberian Husky or the traditional Alaskan village dog, predominates. Many other breeds have contributed to its genetic makeup, including the Wolf, stag hound, foxhound, greyhound, Doberman etc.; these diverse breed contributions account for the Alaskans great variability of appearance. Racing sled dogs are bred for stamina, strength, speed, and endurance. A positive working attitude is essential. Sled dogs that come in contact with the public at races or in excursion businesses must not be aggressive toward humans. Nevertheless, shyness is a frequent trait in the Alaskan husky. This is a cute dog with two different colored eyes. How can you tell this dog likes you, he will tell you when he says “You’ve caught my eye” and one of his eyes is different from the other.
